Timing belts have replaced timing chains to help make today's sophisticated engines possible. They are lighter, quieter, more efficient and more economical than chains.
Your timing belts are inside your engine. You can't see it when you look under your hood.
Your owners manual may tell you if you have a cam belt or not but your best bet is to ask your technician.
The good news is: even though your car stops and you won't be able to drive it until its fixed the best case would be that you could get the faulty cam belt replaced and you would be on your way again BUT: If you have what they call a interference engine and your cam belt breaks then serious engine damage may occur which will result in not only a longer time off the road being repaired, but also it can result in a expensive repair to rectify all the problems that may have occurred.
Most car manufacturer's recommend to replace the cam belt every 100,000km but most automotive technicians recommended 80,000km due to them having seen many times the result of a broken cam belt.
CV Joints or constant velocity joints are the component that transmits engine power to the front wheels on most late model front wheel drive cars. They enable power to be transmitted when the wheels are pointing in any direction.
All cars have at least four CV Joints Two inner CV Joints are located next to the gearbox and two outer CV Joints located next to the front wheels. The outer CV Joints normally wear first because they are transmitting power while the wheels are turning and are doing most of the work.
They will make a clicking noise when turning especially when accelerating. The more it is worn the louder the noise. When a CV Joint is very bad it will click when going in a straight line. It is not normal for a CV Joint to break completely because the noise becomes so loud that the owner normally gets it replaced well before this point, however if it is left to get this bad it may break completely and the vehicle will have no drive.
Replacing a CV Joint is a simple procedure and only takes approx 1-1 1/2 hours, Sometimes the CV Joint is seized on the shaft and may take 1 1/2 -2 hours. We fit only quality OE CV Joints with new CV grease and new rubber boots for $245.00 per side.
Our quality CV Joints should last approx 80,000kms
Engine flush is an additive that we pour into the engine oil system before we complete and oil and filter change. It cleans everything that oil touches such as, oil galleries, pistons, bearings, cylinder bores, oil pumps, cylinder head, hydraulic lifters and many more components.
A much cleaner and more efficient running engine that will last considerably longer. The best way I find to explain the benefits are when you have finished doing the dishes at home, you have dirt and food scraps left in the sink. You always clean it down before doing another load of dishes. Same goes for when we drain your engine oil, there is always dirt and crud left in the sump which is mixed up with the new oil going in and is never really flushed out. When we add our oil system flush/cleaner you'll have a nice clean engine and it will last a lot longer.
$25.00 per flush and should be completed every time the engine oil and filter is changed.
Fuel Injection Cleaner cleans every part of your engine that fuel touches, such as fuel tank, hoses, inlet manifold, pistons, inlet and exhaust valves.
You should expect better fuel efficiency and economy.
A bottle of Injection Cleaner costs $25.00 and should be added to tank every service or 6 months.
